This Sunday sees the 3rd of 5 of Regional SuperTeams Heats, which will be hosted by Pitreavie AAC at their home track, Pitreavie Sports Centre in Dunfermline, where we have a fantastic turnout of 19 of our U12 Athletes taking part, all competing in 75m, Long Jump, Javelin (turbo) and if there are keen to hang on, mixed relays (which is optional 😊)

The following is a wee summary of how the event will unfold.

First things First – How to get to Pitreavie Sports Centre from Cumbernauld 😊
There are two ways to get there either via the new Queensferry Crossing Bridge or via the Kincardine Bridge.
From experience, the route via Kincardine Bridge has always been that bit easier 😇

Arrival and Parking

There is parking at the stadium, however the road in can be very congested with football traffic. Please ensure you factor this into your travel time.

Can I please ask all Athletes to be at Pitreavie Sports Centre for 09.45, as this will give you plenty of time to park, find our Club Team in the Stand, then the Club Team Managers will allocate the Athletes numbers 😊

Club Team Managers
For this year’s event, the following Club Coaches have kindly agreed to help with looking after our Club Athletes on the day and will look after issuing their Numbers, Warmups and taking the Athletes to their events:

Stephen – Pool 1 & 2
Callum – Pool 3 & 4
Laurie – Pool 5 & 6

Event Timetable
With it being a Regional Event, the timetable isn’t as long as a typical league match, which can be found here.

Event Assembly
When reporting for events, our Club Team Managers will take all Athletes to their assembly areas prepared to compete, with numbers securely fastened to their club vest or club t-shirts visible to officials 10 minutes before the start of their events.

The following is a layout of where each of the events and warmups will take place:

Who is which Pool?
As always our Club Athletes are split across different teams to compete against other Clubs and are in the following Pools:

If anyone can no longer attend, can you please drop Stephen a txt on 07768 337 608, we can then advise the events team.

Weather Forecast

The current weather forecast looks just a wee bit wet at times, whilst there is a covered stand at Pitreavie, can I  please ask all parents to ensure they pack the following:

– Club Vest
– Club Hoodie
– Showerproof Jacket
– Shorts/ Sprinting Tights (whatever the Athlete is comfortable competing in :-))
– Jogging Bottoms
– Flats
– Spikes (if they would like to compete in these)
– Non fizzy drink of their choice
– Snacks (for between events)

One Last Thing 😇
On behalf of all at the Club, I would like to wish all our Athletes representing the Club this Sunday all the best – have fun – go and enjoy 🤞😊
