This Saturday sees the last of the Regional SuperTeams Heats, which will be hosted by Pitreavie AAC at their home track, Pitreavie Sports Centre in Dunfermline, where we have a fantastic turnout of 22 of our U12 Athletes taking part, all competing in 75m, Long Jump, Javelin (turbo) and if there are keen to hang on, mixed relays (which is optional 😊)
Hopefully all those who have signed up will have received their mail from Scottish Athletics, for those that haven’t, the following is how the event will unfold.
First things First – How to get to Pitreavie Sports Centre from Cumbernauld 😊
There are two ways to get there either via the new Queensferry Crossing Bridge or via the Kincardine Bridge.
From experience, the route via Kincardine Bridge has always been that bit easier 😇
Arrival and Parking
There is parking at the stadium, however the road in can be very congested with football traffic. Please ensure you factor this into your travel time.
All athletes must declare at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the competition (declarations will open at 9am and close at 9:30am).
Can I please ask all Athletes to be there for 08.45, as this will give you plenty of time to park, find our Club Team in the Stand, then we can all collectively head down to declarations to pick up their numbers 😊
Event Assembly
When reporting for events, all Athletes should report to the assembly areas prepared to compete, with numbers securely fastened to their club vest or club t-shirts visible to officials.
Athletes should report directly to the Field event at least 5-10 minutes before the timetabled start time.
For Track Events Athletes should report to assemble at the start of the 100m at least 5-10 minutes before the timetabled start time for their event to be collected by officials and escorted to the start line.
The following is a layout of where each of the events and warmups will take place:
Event Timetable
With it being a Regional Event, the timetable isn’t as long and is as follows:
Who is Which Team?
As always our Club Athletes are split across different teams to compete against other Clubs and are in the following Teams:
Weather Forecast
It has been a while since I have given this advice 😂 – the weather forecast looks fantastic can I please ask all parents to bring suncream, bottle of water, a light snack – I will bring a couple of cases of water and tubs of Haribos for during and after the event.
One Last Thing 😇
On behalf of all at the Club, I would like to wish all the Athletes representing the Club this Saturday all the best – have fun – go and enjoy 🤞😊
