The next of the Scottish National Indoor Championships for our club was the Combined Events and Relays where all our athletes ran, jumped and threw with great results!
Day 1
Euan took part in the u20 Heptathlon, where he had a PB of 8.09 in the 60m, followed by a SB of 5.65m in the long jump, then another SB of 7.24m in the shot put, and finished with a PB of 1.80 in the high jump. Unfortunately Euan didn’t make day 2 of his heptathlon but well done to him on the events he did do!
Erin and Emily also took part in the u13 girls Pentathlon with lots of great results:
Emily – ran 12.62 in the 60 hurdles, had a SB 1.25 in the high jump, a great jump of 4.17 in the long jump, a big PB of 6.73 in the shot put, and finished with her 800m in 3:33.51. This gave her an overall points PB of 1442, finishing 7th overall. Well done Emily!
Erin – ran 12.39 in the 60 hurdles, had a PB of 1.25 in the high jump, a PB of 3.52 in the long jump, a PB of 4.70 in the shot put, and finished with 3:07.49 in her 800. This gave her an overall points PB of 1383, finishing 9th overall. Well done Erin!
Day 2
On day 2, Ava took part in the u15 girls pentathlon, with another fine set of results!
Ava ran 11.23 in the hurdles, followed by a SB of 1.23 in the high jump. Then she jumped 3.92 in the long jump, threw a PB of 5.25 in the shot put and then ran and excellent 2:45.12 to finish the day.
This all gave her a points PB of 1869, finishing in 13th place overall. Well done Ava!
Amy and Hannah took part in the u20 women’s pentathlon and both also did really well.
Amy :
3rd in hurdles with 9.17
1st in High Jump with 1.63
1st in Shot Put with 12.33
2nd in Long Jump with 5.34 (PB)
5th in 800m with 2:31.26 (PB)
This gave her an overall points PB of 3660 and the Gold medal! Well done Amy!
Hannah:
4th in hurdles with 9.30
7= in High Jump with 1.57 (SB)
8th in Shot Put with 7.98 (SB)
5th in Long Jump with 5.16 (SB)
11th in 800m with 2:43.83 (PB)
This great set of SBs and PBs gave her an overall points PB of 3080, earning her 5th place overall! Well done Hannah!
Meanwhile, there were also great performances from our relay teams:
U13 girls – Chloe, Lilly, Bailie and Freya – 3rd in their heat
U13 boys – Matthew, Rory, Aidan and Logan – 4th in their heat
U15 girls – Millie, Niah, Niamh and Ava C – 2nd in their heat, which qualified them for the National final, where they came 5th overall!
U17 women – Kayla, Kaela, Grace and Rebekah – 2nd in the heat, which qualified them for the final, where they won a fantastic Silver medal! Well done to them all!
