The second and final YDL LAG Meet of 2021 will be held again at the home of Kilmarnock Harriers & AC, Ayrshire Athletics Arena, in Kilmarnock on Sunday 1st August – a big well done to all our Club athletes who have been selected to represent Team NL 🙂

Team Selection for YDL Meet 2
The following is the current Team Selection for Meet 1 (as of 31st July):

U13/ U15 Boys & Girls (which includes Team Managers & Club Officials)

Many thanks to all the Parents/ Guardians for confirming the Teamer Notifications!

A copy of the Timetable of Events for Sunday can be found here.

Can all Athletes please make sure you are at the Club Tent that will be at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena at least 1 hour before your event is due to take place.

Important Note for Athlete’s & Parents/ Guardians
As in the previous meet, unfortunately no spectators will be allowed into the Arena however each Athlete attending will be allowed one parent/ guardian to accompany them.

To help with Track & Trace requirements for this Meet, can those parents/ guardian attending please email the following to Stephen Wallace at cumbernauldaac.secretary@gmail.com by 10.30 am Friday 30th July:

Athlete Name
Chaperone Name
Chaperon email address or phone number

Whilst as Covid-19 restrictions have eased since the first meet, there are still some restrictions in place found here that I would urge both Athletes & Chaperones to please read.

Travel to Ayrshire Athletics Arena, Kilmarnock
In the past the Club have put a mini bus on to help transport Club Athletes to and from events however due to the current restrictions in place this has proved to be impractical. Therefore we are asking all Athletes to please make their own way there, which I appreciate is a big ask.

Please note that the M8 will be closed from Saturday 31st July to Sunday 1st August, please take the M73/ M74 route to Kilmarnock.

Directions from Cumbernauld to the Ayrshire Athletics Arena can be found here.

Please note the Car Park at the Arena will be used for Officials and Drop Off only however just further down to the arena there is additional car parking with details in how to find it here.

What Athletes Need to Bring 🙂
As the current weather forecast is looking much better than it did at the beginning of the week :-), can all athletes please make sure you bring the following:

– Club Vest (this year we don’t have to use Team NL Vests)
– Snack and water/ electrolyte drink
– 8 Safety Pins
– Warm long sleeved top, jogging bottoms
– Shower proof jacket and bottoms
– Spikes

On behalf of all the Club Coaches we hope you all enjoy the meet especially those who are representing Team NL for the first time 🙂
