It was a great start to the Winter Season for our Senior and Master Athletes competing against a strong field in the George Cummings Road Relays on Saturday and in the Neil McCover Half Marathon on the Sunday, where they all performed exceptionally well.

Three teams comprising of the following Athletes represented the Club in the George Cummings Road Relays; Masters A Team (Ross McEachern, David Hogg, Martin Fitchie and Alan Flannagan), Masters B Team (Nyall Goodwin & Alexander Reid), Seniors (Martyn Glancy, Robert Keenan, Louis O’Hare jnr and Jacob Brown) with the Masters A team finishing in 18th out of 50 and overall 3rd Masters Team. The Senior Team were just behind in a credible 26th place.

The following day in the Neil McCover Half Marathon in Kirkintilloch proved to be an incredible set of performances by the Athletes that took part – Louis O’Hare won the event overall in a fantastic time of 1hr 15mins, Ross McEachern came 1st in the M50 category and with Derek Martin just finishing behind Ross all three won the overall Team Prize 🙂

Fantastic start to the Season however I would also like to extend equally a BIG well done to both Alastair McFarlane and Annmarie McCaffrey in all the excellent hard work they both do in Coaching the Senior & Masters section to this level of performance!
