This weekend was the turn of our Masters and Combined Eventers to take part in their National Championships and there were lots of great results!
On Saturday, Alicia was first up in the 2000m Steeplechase, where she ran a strong race, coming third overall. Well done Alicia!
This was followed by our Masters, taking part in the 800m, 400m and 1500m. There were lots of medals:
Double Gold for Paul in the 800m and the 1500m
Gold for David in the 400m
Bronze for Alan in the 800m
Silver for Ross in the 1500m
Bronze for Sean in the 1500m
Well done also to Vincent, Stephen and Martin, all running well in their races, great to see so many of our Cumbernauld AAC vests on display on the track!
Finn and Grant took part in the U13 boys Pentathlon on the Saturday, and both did really well! Unfortunately Grant had to withdraw through injury before his final event, but Finn managed to complete the day with PBs in the shot put and 800m! Well done to both Finn and Grant! Unfortunately Euan is injured and couldn’t take part in the u15 boys.
On day two, Hannah and Amy continued their Heptathlon, and both did really well too! Hannah’s jumps were fantastic and she had a great PB in the 800m, all of which gave her a huge overall points PB and 5th place. Well done Hannah!
Amy’s throws were great, breaking the Championship record in the shot put, and although she was disappointed with her jumps, she managed to hold on to third place, earning a bronze medal. Well done Amy!
Congratulations to everyone who took part over the weekend from all the Club coaches!
