Clubs

The first YDL Meet of 2019 was a fantastic Team performance by all of the Athletes that represented Team NL, which resulted in the best start to a YDL Competition in over 8 years with both teams finishing in a great 3rd place.

As it was very much a collective team effort, I would like to add a BIG thanks to Graeme Atkinson, Donna Wallace, Brenda Stephens, Lyndsey Cooper, Angela McCafferty and Marika Kennedy for all kindly agreeing to assist as Officials and as Team Managers on the day – fantastic level of support to ensure all the Athletes were in the right place and the right time as well as picking up maximum Officials points – thank you 🙂

A copy of the results from the first YDL Meet of 2019 are as follows:

– LAG: U13/ U15 Boys and Girls
U17 Men and Woman

The next YDL Match of 2019 will be held at Grangemouth Stadium on Sunday 19th May – a big well done to all those Club athletes who have been selected to represent Team NL 🙂

Team Selection for YDL Meet 2

Travel
As we have potentially 24 Athletes from the Club representing Team NL in this Match, we have decided to look at taking the mini bus plus cars, leaving Muirfield Community Center at 09.20 on Sunday 19th May.

If any Athlete would like a place on the minibus, please let Stephen know at the next Club night.

If Athletes are making their own way there, can you please let Stephen know on 07768 337 608 or at stephen.wallace16@googlemail.com and please make sure you are there at least 1 hour before your event is due to take place.

Those who haven’t been to Grangemouth Stadium before, directions can be found here.

What you Need to Bring
As the current weather forecast  is looking a bit changeable can all athletes please make sure you bring the following:

– Pack lunch and water/ electrolyte drink (non fizzy)
– 8 Safety Pins
– Warm long sleeved top, jogging bottoms
– Shower proof jacket and bottoms
– Spikes

Please note Whilst Team NL Vests will be provided on the day – can you please ensure these are also handed back in after you have finished competing 🙂

For those who still have a vest from last year, can you please make sure you bring this along on the day as we did start this years competition with fewer than we did last year!

On behalf of all the Club Coaches we hope you all enjoy the meet especially those who are representing Team NL for the first time 🙂
