100 Mile Relay Challenge Fundraiser

Saturday 21st April 2018, 9am – 12.00, Greenfaulds High School Track

This time last year, Alasdair, one of our club athletes, was just finishing one of his most successful Indoor Seasons – winning Gold in the National U15 800m, a Bronze in the Scottish Schools U16 800m and picked up his Scotland Hoodie at the Scottish Schools Event Squad Day.

Just two days after picking up Silver in the U15 800m at the West District, Alasdair became unwell.

Today, after a very difficult past 10 months, Alasdair is slowly recovering from a challenging condition that has affected his neural nervous system. This has impacted his physical ability to do a number of things we all at times take for granted.

Alasdair’s amazing attitude and strong determination to overcome these challenges has been incredible to watch. His love of the Track has not left him and is now pursuing learning how to wheelchair race.

To help Alasdair to be able to race in a chair that fits him, the Athletes of Cumbernauld AAC have organised a 100 mile relay challenge, where we are inviting all of our Athletes, Coaches and friends of Alasdair to join in the fun on Saturday 21st April, with all proceeds going towards Alasdair’s new race wheelchair.

Please join in – sign up to Go the Extra Mile for Alasdair and help raise as much as we can.

The following Just Giving Page has been created to support the event:
