Well done to our 16 club athletes representing 6 different schools who took part in the Scottish Secondary Schools Indoor Championships on Wednesday and Thursday. There were two medals won on the day, Jamie winning Gold in the High Jump, and Alasdair winning Bronze in the 800m, a huge well done to them both!
Here are some more highlights:
Representing Greenfaulds High School:
Calum – competed over two days, fantastic run in the 1500m on the Wednesday, only very narrowly missing out on the final, and another great run in the 800m on the Thursday, qualifying for the B Final.
Connor – finished 4th in his 400m heat.
Jack – a strong run in the 400m.
Alasdair – finished first in his 800m heat, qualifying him for the final, where he ran a strong race, winning the Bronze medal.
Arran – strong performances in Shot Put, High Jump and Long jump.
Hannah – Qualified for the semi-final of the 60m hurdles, and jumped a PB in the Long Jump.
Amy – strong performances in High Jump and Shot Put, and qualified for the semi-final of the 300m with a good PB.
Representing St Maurice’s High School:
Aimie – finished 4th in her 60m Hurdles heat in a strong run, narrowing missing the semi-final, and jumped well in the Long Jump with a PB.
Jamie – Great performance in the High Jump, knocking out all the competition with a jump of 1.80m to win the Gold medal.
Beth – Great hurdling to qualify for the 60mH final, and also great running in the 60m to qualify for the semi-final.
Nikkala – Finished 3rd in her 60m heat with an equalled PB.
Representing Cumbernauld Academy:
Holly – A strong run in the 300m heat.
Robyn – A strong run in the 60m heat.
Representing Chryston High School:
Lucy – A great run in the 800m heat, qualifying for the Final where she ran a very strong race.
Representing St Margaret’s School:
Sophie – Strong runs in the 300m heat and 60mH heat.
Representing Our Lady’s High School:
Jacob – a strong run in the 800m.
