Scottish InterDistrict Championships
In perfect Cross Country conditions and under the stunning backdrop of Arthur Seat, both Alasdair and Lucy put in their best performances of the season against the top 15 Cross Country Athletes from the West, East and North of Scotland in this year’s Scottish InterDistrict Championships at Holyrood Park.

Up first was Alasdair in the U15 Boy’s 4K race, taking a more conservative start to the race from his norm, he worked his way through the pack in an excellent controlled run, finishing a credible 12th place overall and 5th West Scotland Athlete, which he was rewarded with a National Silver Team medal ?

Lucy was next up in the U17’s Woman 4K race, which was combined with the Junior Woman International Athletes from USA, Team GB, Scotland, Team Europe and Ecuador. Not phased with the TV camera’s that covered her race, Lucy made a strong start and kept herself within the middle of the pack for all of the race and had a close finish with one of her team mates in the last 100m of the race, and was the 7th West Scotland Athlete to finish the race.

Great performances from the both of you – well done ?

Edinburgh Great Winter 5K Run
Running in parallel to the Scottish InterDistrict Championships was the Edinburgh Great Winter Run, where both Thomas Whiteford and Grant Little lined up alongside side each other in the Fast Paced Club Athletes Pen ?

For those not familiar with this race, it includes a nice comfortable 600m flat, followed by a challenging steep mile climb up to Arthur Seat and finishing with a 1K downhill run back into Holyrood Park – just what you need to burn off the excesses of Christmas ?

Both ran excellent races with Thomas finishing in 20.37 and Grant just behind in 20.55.

Well done to the both of you!!!
