This weekend, we had a record 23 of our athletes competing in the Scottish National U13, U15 and U20 Championships where they produced a huge number of great performances, including 3 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals and 9 PBs!

Here are the highlights:

U13 Girls

Cassandra Manfredini – 100m heat 14.90, qualified for the semi-final but unfortunately had to pull out through injury.

Emma Mair – 200m heat 29.93, 200m semi-final 29.58 and a very commendable 6th place in the 200m final with a PB of 29.40.

Stella Coutts – 6th place in the shot put with a throw of 7.72m, and a throw of 15.02 in the discus.

Amy Kennedy – 1.26m in the high jump, 4th place in the shot put with a throw of 8.18m, but she saved the best for last by winning GOLD in the discus final with a throw of 22.75m!

U13 Boys

Adam Atkinson – 100m heat 14.93, just missed out on the semi-final.

Craig Little – 1500m timed final – 5:15.70

Euan Wallace – 75m Hurdles heat 14.69

Ethan Cunningham – 100m heat 15.57, 75m Hurdles heat 16.29, 200m heat 32.21

U15 Girls

Aimie Hendry – High Jump 1.31m, Triple Jump 9.24m and Long Jump 4.67m (PB)

Ellie Forrest – High Jump 1.36m (PB)

Jodie Warren – 75m hurdles heat 13.74, Triple Jump -9.05m, Shot put 7.38m PB

Hannah Wallace – 100m heat 13.85, qualified for 100m Semi Final where she came 5th with a PB of 13.71.

Emily Miller – 300m heat 42.93, Semi-Final 43.06 and then she won GOLD in the final with a Championship Record time of 41.56!

U15 Boys

Jacob Brown – 800m heat time of 2:24.86

Calum Little – 1500m heat time of 4:37.37, a great achievement to make it into the final which he ran in a time of 4:43.58

Alasdair McMonagle – won his 800m heat in a time of 2:11.22, he then went on to come a very commendable 4th place in a strong final with a time of 2:06.26

Arran Kennedy – High Jump- 1.42m, Long Jump 4.48m and Triple Jump 9.64 (PB)

Paul Atkinson – Shot Put – a PB throw of 7.89m

Jamie Tobin – 80m Hurdles heat 12.86 (PB), made it into the final where he ran a time of 13.09.  However, by that time he had already won a SILVER medal in the High Jump with a fantastic PB of 1.74m!

U20 Women

Lucy Somerville – stepped up to the U20 women after a fantastic performance in the U17 Women last weekend.  She ran a time of 2:21.11 in the heat to qualify for the final, where she finished a very respectable 6th with a time of 2:23.32

Alicia Paton – braved the wind and rain to run a very tough 1500m Steeplechase!  She finished the race well with a PB of 6:13.94to win a SILVER medal!

U20 Men

Cameron Richardson – 1500m Final time 4:10.93

Lewis Brown – Straight to the 400m Men’s Final, which he won comfortably for a GOLD medal with a time of 48.75

In summary, it was a pleasure to watch so many of our fantastic athletes competing at such a high level, and they were all a credit to the club.  All the coaches are extremely proud of them all!
